Led by endodontist Dr. Julie Brann, DMD, Braselton Endodontics is located at 1235 Friendship Rd, Suite 115, in Braselton, Georgia. Dr. Julie Brann’s Personal Journey Into Dentistry
For Dr. Brann, dentistry became a career because of her own experience as a patient.
Growing up in Romeo, Michigan, Dr. Brann did not receive regular dental care as a child. When she turned 18, she decided to take control of her dental health. At that point, she discovered that years without consistent care had affected both her teeth and gums.
What could have been an intimidating experience instead became the inspiration for her future career. The compassionate dentist who helped restore Dr. Brann’s smile showed her the difference thoughtful, supportive dental care can make in a person’s life. That experience inspired her to pursue dentistry herself and has continued to influence the way she approaches patient care today.
Because Dr. Brann understands what it feels like to be the patient in the dental chair, we place a strong emphasis on making people feel heard, informed, and comfortable. Dental treatment can be stressful, especially when someone is already experiencing significant tooth pain. We believe compassion and clear communication are important parts of providing excellent endodontic care.
From General Dentistry to Specialized Endodontic Training
Dr. Brann’s education and clinical background give her a broad perspective on both general dental care and specialized endodontic treatment.
After earning her undergraduate degree from Oakland University, she attended Tufts University, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2015. She then completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Phoenix, Arizona. Following her residency, Dr. Brann spent six years practicing general dentistry.
Those years provided valuable experience treating a wide range of dental needs. They also helped deepen her interest in endodontics, the area of dentistry focused on diagnosing and treating problems affecting the inside of a tooth. Dr. Brann eventually decided to pursue advanced specialty training and completed her endodontic residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in 2024.
Her background in both general dentistry and endodontics allows her to understand dental concerns from several perspectives. Whether we are evaluating persistent tooth pain, determining whether root canal therapy may help preserve a tooth, or managing a previously treated tooth that has developed new problems, our focus is on identifying the source of the problem and recommending an appropriate path forward.
What Does an Endodontist Do?
Many patients first hear the word “endodontist” after their general dentist recommends that they see a specialist.
Endodontists receive advanced training in diagnosing and treating conditions involving the dental pulp and tissues surrounding the roots of teeth. The dental pulp contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. When this tissue becomes inflamed or infected because of deep decay, cracks, trauma, or other damage, specialized treatment may be necessary.
One of the most common procedures performed by an endodontist is root canal therapy. During root canal treatment, the damaged or infected tissue inside the tooth is removed. The internal space is then carefully cleaned, disinfected, and sealed. The goal is to address the source of infection or inflammation while allowing the natural tooth to remain in place.
Saving a natural tooth whenever possible can help patients maintain normal biting and chewing function while avoiding the need to replace an extracted tooth.

CBCT technology creates detailed three-dimensional images of the teeth, roots, jawbone, and surrounding structures. These images can provide information that may not be visible on traditional two-dimensional dental X-rays.
For endodontic treatment, having a detailed view of the tooth can be especially helpful when evaluating complex root anatomy, identifying possible causes of persistent symptoms, assessing dental trauma, or planning surgical treatment.

It is to gather the information we need to make informed decisions and perform treatment as precisely and efficiently as possible.
